Pumpenu gimnazija

Pumpenai Gymnasium is a public body which provides basic secondary education and has all 3 main branches in the educational ladder: primary (1-4 grades) and pre-primary school, pro-gymnasium (5-8 grades), high school (I-IVg). All our students live in the locality around the school.

 

We also provide compulsory education and special help for students with various disabilities. At present it is attended by 300 learners with a teaching staff of 38 teachers and trainers as well and 13 people of non-teaching staff. The management is composed by the headmaster and the deputy head of formal education. Almost all teachers have a high teaching qualification.

 

The school is located in a rural area with beautiful surroundings and views, fully equipped and have various modern facilities. Our school is interested in this project and would like to join it since it will provide our students with new challenges and will give them an opportunity to demonstrate their skills and abilities on new levels and collaborate with students from ohter countries in contribution to fighting against violence and discrimination in sports.

 

It must be highlighted that our school is closely collaborated with YOUTH CAN, a non-profit organization supported by Kazickas Family Foundation, which supports youth education and gives children an opportunity to do sports and be a part of the Life Skills program. Youth Can's mission is to ensure that young people could have access to the simplest things they might need when playing team sports and facing many challenges in the communities affected by poverty, drugs, crime and alcohol.

 

Thus, students are using sports as a tool for social and individual development, acting positively and productively, and are inspired to lead and promote a healthy lifestyle in their communities. A wide range of activities that we are involved in and organise at our school helps to develop a partnership between schools and communities and to create a safe environment where street children can learn from each other and coaches.
